About

I'm Kidus Sendeke, a software engineer in the Seattle area.

I studied Informatics at the University of Washington, then spent my early career at Visa in Austin automating payment-system testing. I moved to Microsoft in 2020, where I worked on distributed backend services in M365 Substrate: ingestion APIs, global rate limiting, big-data pipelines and a lot of on-call. That work earned a patent award in 2022.

Today I build AI-enabled applications at Microsoft and study for an M.S. in Computer Science (Data Science) at Seattle University. On the side I run 50 Limes (፶ ሎሚ, 50limes.com), a small product studio building intelligence tools for markets where good information is hard to find.

Outside work I paint in oil, take photographs, fly drones, build furniture, cook, and get through a lot of audiobooks.
